As a parent of a child who struggles with their mental health, I sought to build a team of providers for my child. We didn't necessarily see them all at one time, but we tried to build on skills and treatment plans over the years. In our example, our core team was comprised of our psychiatrist, pediatrician, therapist. We enhanced that core team with equine therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, neuropsychology. We found that certain types of treatment such as neurofeedback, brain spotting and DBT were especially effective for our child. Our site is a resource for you to locate providers to build that team. If you already have a psychiatrist or therapist, they may be helpful in suggesting supplemental treatments or providers that you will find on our site. If you need a bit more guidance in building your team or definitions of these providers, our book for sale on the site, contains more details from my experience.
We do not have the opportunity to work with all of these providers so we do not provide any recommendations. We are a list of some of the providers available in your area.
Your insurance company will dictate if you need a formal recommendation to these providers. I would suggest calling them to clarify when recommendations are needed and what types of providers are covered by your plan.
As this site continues to grow, we will see more and more providers listed, so please check back. If you live in a more rural area, look for telehealth options to widen your network. If you live close to state lines, you may consider checking in bordering states.
You may come to our site with a list of diagnosis you are observing in your child. Our site is searchable by symptom as well as diagnosis.
Please check with each provider as to the cost of their services as they may vary by state, qualifications, insurance coverage. Again, your insurance company can provide additional information on what coverage is provided in your specific plan.
Providers are responsible for maintaining their contact information on this site, if there is a phone number listed, you may consider calling to see if their clinic is still open or if the website changed.
